MK V PROTOTYPE FILE GUIDE — READ BEFORE SLICING Release status -------------- These are unfitted appearance prototypes, not a full wearable manufacturing release. Do not print an entire suit from this package expecting a working, fitted assembly. The purchased motorized arm, paid instructions and firmware are excluded from public distribution. Helmet and purchased arms are not assembled into the current torso/leg Blender file. 1. Choose current versus historical files --------------------------------------- Start with mk5-current-cad.zip and mk5-current-prototype-stl.zip. History archives contain older and rejected iterations. Do not use a historical STL as a replacement for a held current component without a new review. 2. Inspect the manifest ----------------------- STL_MANIFEST.json maps every exported file to its source object, assembly, red/silver material color, source bounds, checks and SHA-256 checksum. The held list identifies components for which no current STL is released. A decorative mesh is not necessarily an independently printable production part: small ribs, inserts and fasteners may need consolidation onto a carrier. 3. Open the source CAD --------------------- Open MK5_REVIEW_PR002.blend in Blender. Do not enable automatic execution of untrusted embedded scripts. Keep an untouched copy. The file deliberately retains hidden earlier geometry and non-printing proxy flags for traceability. Visible components are a static design study, not an animated functional suit. 4. Confirm units and fit before buying or printing ------------------------------------------------ STL coordinates are millimetres. Import as mm with no automatic rescaling. The current model uses a provisional design scale, NOT measured body dimensions. Confirm stature, chest, waist, hips, limb lengths/circumferences and shoe envelope. Account for cooling garment, harness, padding, wiring and actual hardware. Do not uniformly scale the purchased motorized mechanism to solve shell fit. 5. Understand bed placement and assembly coordinates --------------------------------------------------- Each STL is translated to a local positive bed origin. To reconstruct the saved assembly position, add its assembly_translation_mm vector from the manifest. STL sections s01/s02/etc belong to the same source object. They are not duplicates. K2 Plus nominal volume: 350 x 350 x 350 mm. The export target is at most 340 mm per axis. That margin does not guarantee space for your chosen brim or supports. 6. Review segmentation ---------------------- Oversized components are cut and capped as prototype sections. These are plain butt seams. No automatic alignment keys, overlap tabs or structural joints are provided. Decide the joining and load path before printing a wearable part. Avoid putting structural loads through a cosmetic shell or an untested adhesive seam. 7. Run slicer inspection on ONE representative part -------------------------------------------------- Use your actual 0.4 mm K2 Plus nozzle profile. Check the displayed dimensions first. Inspect every layer for missing walls, disconnected islands, trapped support, unreachable cavities, unsupported surfaces and tiny features that disappear. Do not automatically accept slicer repairs: retain the original and inspect the repaired mesh against the source CAD. A repair can change the intended shape. Select orientation, layer height, wall count, material and supports for that part; this package does not prescribe untested universal print settings. 8. Print a small, low-cost fit/sample section first ------------------------------------------------- Only proceed after the slicer preview makes physical sense. Check actual thickness, dimensions and joining clearances after printing. Wear tests require an established quick-removal plan and verified clearance; hard static knee ribs are not flexures. No load-bearing, electrical, thermal or movement certification is claimed. 9. Finish only after fit and joint checks -------------------------------------- STL has no color. Follow the source Blender material assignments for Mk V red and silver. Plan sanding and primer without erasing panel separation or reducing walls. Do not modify actuator travel, hinge axes or purchased mechanism interfaces merely to achieve a cosmetic color or silhouette change. Checks that were run -------------------- Closed edge topology; consistent winding; positive enclosed volume; degenerate triangle screening; nonadjacent self-contact candidate screening with separating axis rejection; current-orientation component bounds; binary STL read-back topology. Adjacent triangles sharing vertices are excluded from the self-contact screen. It is not a mathematically complete self-intersection certification. Checks still required --------------------- Measured local minimum wall thickness (currently UNKNOWN_ESTIMATE_ONLY), wearer fit, complete inter-part clearance and motion, physical attachments, hardware dimensions, thermal/electrical planning, material strength, slicer support strategy, physical prototype tests and assisted dressing/quick removal.
