Engineer, Innovator, Researcher and Educator

Alexander holds a Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and is passionate about advancing aerospace technology, and applying engineering principles to develop innovative solutions.

He currently works as an Assembly Test and Launch Operations Engineer at Lockheed Martin. He has previously contributed to environmental testing at NASA, developed expertise in Modeling and Simulation Software, and spent significant time leading dynamic testing projects.

Originally from Madison, Alabama, he studied online at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, worked on groundbreaking aerospace projects, and is now pursuing a Master of Space Operations. He loves research, technology, and exploration.

Lockheed-Martin

Assembly Test and Launch Operations Engineer

  • Certified Test Conductor that designed, lead, organized, and conducted all system level environmental dynamic testing of the MAV from self-written and peer reviewed test procedures and detailed test plans.
  • Identification of test requirements and the development of test planning for the Assembly, Integration, Test of the Mars Ascent Vehicle Integrated System (MAVIS) and associated requirements tracking
  • Executed test procedures for MAVIS while supporting the launch operations and provided support to the program to develop and execute test plans that verified system level program requirements from customer
  • Led Independent Reviews, TRR, Tabletops, customer meetings, design reviews and issue resolution, ensuring smooth project execution while meeting PDR and Pre-CDR milestones and goals.
  • Led Mechanical Support Equipment design and test fixture design for Environmental testing
  • Drew conclusions from results of tests and applied first principles to Test -Like-You-Fly and exemptions

Missile Defense Agency

Aerospace Engineer

  • Aerospace Engineer/Missile Defense Analyst for Chief Architecture-CAY & Ground Test Support-DTG
  • Script writing in MATLAB and Python including logical framework that outlines hypersonic capabilities.
  • Data organization & reduction to identify gaps in blue force capability across all missile defense systems.
  • Use of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) tools for Aerothermal Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) as applied to various missile payloads, instrumentation, countermeasures, and associated objects.
  • Aerothermal IV&V as applied to Medium and Shortwave Infrared measurements of TPS systems, Rocket/Missile Booster Plume Aerosols, and wakes for hard body discrimination in boost phase of flight.
  • Extensive knowledge in SMC-S-016 Testing and Design Requirement standards as they apply to launch vehicles, upper-stage vehicles, and their subsystems and units with a specialty focus on thermal systems.

Teledyne Brown Engineering

Lead System Integration & Test Engineer

  • Hypersonic Hot Air Tunnel program testing from feasibility studies to prototype demonstration, definition of system interfaces, system components and subcomponent testing and integration.
  • Design subcontractor test plans, organize test execution that follows a data driven test and evaluation master plan that then graduates subsystems to the next technology readiness level (TRL) by setting and tracking milestones whereby procurement and comparison of data follows.
  • Verification and validation of calibration standards of sub-contractor test instrumentation data via empirical data. Direct integration of hardware into test facilities, risk assessment, evaluation, & mitigation.
  • Delegated tasks, testing design, data analysis and reduction in a dynamic & fast-paced work environment.
  • Worked with government customer to assure program met deliverable requirements & expectations.
